Film your own wedding the Shetlands…The ceremony was held on the beach at their family home, with the stunning backdrop of the cliffs and sea. After the ceremony, the guests were treated to a stunning barbecue spread, complete with fish, meat, and salads.
The couple served local beer and wine, with a signature cocktail made by the groom’s dad.
After dinner, the guests were entertained with a traditional Shetland fiddler, and the evening was topped off with fireworks and sparklers! A very simple, intimate and beautiful wedding in the Shetland Islands.
The proposal was more like a conversation than a big proposal. We both knew we wanted to get married and had spoken about it before. We were out for a drive on a lovely sunny day and were speaking about marriage.

Callum said something along the lines of ‘well, will we just go for it then’, I asked if he was proposing, he said ‘yeah I suppose’ and then I said yes! It was very simple, but it felt right. Callum and I met at a work Christmas party in 2010. We worked together and we both felt a connection. I had seen him around in the office, but never really spoken to him.
When he asked me to dance at the party I couldn’t say no, it was love at first dance. We both knew we wanted to get married and had spoken about it before. Callum is a very shy and reserved person, so I wasn’t expecting anything big from him. We had been together for six years, so I knew it was about time he proposed. I was over the moon when he did, it was so simple and perfect for us. I love the ring. It is simple and elegant – it suits me. My wedding dress was the first dress I tried on.

I knew it was the one. I had been looking at dresses online and on Pinterest and I had an idea of what I wanted. The first dress I tried was a fitted fishtail, it was beautiful but I just didn’t feel comfortable in it. It was then I saw the A-line style, it was beautiful and I felt like a million dollars in it. I had the dress custom made and ended up adding a few extra details to it.
I added beading to the train and the back, which gave it a bit of extra sparkle. The wedding dress is from a bridal shop in Manchester called The Ivory Closet. I had a few bridesmaids and my sister-in-law was my Maid of Honour.
I had two adult bridesmaids, my sister and sister-in-law, my cousins and a flower girl. My cousin’s daughter was our flower girl. Film your own wedding the Shetlands
